Casino Gambling in North Macedonia:
A trading company with a registered seat in North Macedonia that has been granted a license for organizing casino games by the Government can perform an activity of Casino.
License for organizing casino games
- Issued by the Government of Republic of North Macedonia, after an application (click here to see what documents are to be submitted) submitted to the Ministry of Finance, within 30 days from the day of application
- Issued for a period of six years
- Only for one business premises
- The company is obligated to start organizing the games of chance within 15 days of the day upon receipt of the license.
Financial requirements, fees, and other payments
- Basic capital of at least 500.000 EUR
- A license fee of 600.000 EUR.
- 50% of the license is paid when the license is issued counting 15 days and the remaining 50% in equal annual installments until the license is valid.
- Deposit or a Bank guarantee is 300.000 EUR
Once the casino has started working:
- Deposit of risk daily minimum 10.000 EUR in the casino.
- For each roulette table, a monthly fee of 3.000 EUR
- For other tables in the casino, monthly fee of 1.725 EUR
- 20% special fee calculated on the difference between the amount inserted in all the slot machines and the amount paid by all the slot machines, on a monthly basis
- 3% special health care financing fee, calculated on the difference between the amount inserted in all slot machines and the amount paid by all slot machines, at the expense of the Ministry of Health, on a monthly basis
About the rules for the functioning of the casino:
- The rules of the casino are adopted by the organizer of the games of chance and should be prominently displayed for the players.
- Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed into the casino.
- The organizer of the casino is obliged to have slots and tables in a number specified and approved in the license.
- To change the number and type of slot machines and tables at the casino provided by the license the organizer is obliged to submit a request to the Ministry of Finance
- The organizer reports once a month on the income generated by the types of games to the Ministry of Finance.
- The proof is required to meeting the spatial and technical-technological requirements for organizing casino games of chance and evidence issued by a legal entity that the slot machines and tables at the casino are technically sound.
- The organizer is required to provide an oversight information system through which all slot machines are connected at the casino.
- The system has to provide payment data of any of the vending machines that can be displayed at any time and the system has to be linked to the Public Revenue Office.
- The casino can prescribe the working time of 24 hours a day every day regardless of whether a state or religious holiday or other non-working day is designated by law or other regulation.
- The value of the casino’s promotional tickets cannot exceed 2% of the casino’s monthly revenue.
- There must be an exchange office in the casino, and there may also be a catering facility serving food and drinks.
- The organizer is obligated to provide continuous audio-video surveillance in the casino with recording, so as to ensure continuous and immediate supervision.
